Dry Riser Retrofit

DRY RISER RETROFIT
Firetech Dry Risers where recently commissioned to install a new dry riser system into a tower block in London. Scope of works was to decommission the old system and ensure the new dry riser met current BS990-2015 standard’s.
Why Did the Building Require a new Dry Riser System?
On our routine dry riser maintenance we quickly realised that the current system didn’t meet current BS990-2015 standards. The building was 12 floors high with Landing valves at levels 5,7,9 and 11. We highlighted these potential issues with our client and gave them a suitable, cost effective solution. Which was to install a new Dry Riser system to meet current standards.
Due to the fact that we intended to utilise the old dry riser inlet position. And we needed to cut out sections of the existing pipework to allow for the new system. It was imperative that all works was completed in a day so that the building wasn’t without fire protection overnight. All works where completed on time and within budget by our engineers. The building now has a fully functional, fit for purpose dry riser system.
